Photosynthesis

What is Photosynthesis?

The process which plants and certain other organisms transform light energy into chemical energy.

Process of Photosynthesis

Carbon dioxide in the atmosphere enter the plant leaf through the stomata. Then water enter the leaves, usually enters through the roots then up to the leaves. As sunlight falls on the surface of the leaf, chlorophyll traps the energy in it. Then hydrogen and oxygen are produced by converting water using the energy obtained from the Sun. Hydrogen is combined with carbon dioxide  to make food for the plant, while oxygen is released through the stomata.

Reactant and products of Photosynthesis

Photoautotroph (plants, algae, and some bacteria) need 3 reactants in order to perform photosynthesis. These reactants are carbon dioxide, water, and light energy. After the process occur it produces oxygen and high energy sugar (glucose).
